It's time to wake up and get moving - because this is your year! 2014 may have started out a little gloomy (cold temps and too much champagne will do that!), but it's late-April - there's no better time than now to add adventure to your life. The trees are blooming, the days are longer, and it's time to live your life to the fullest.

Get Moving

Spring is the perfect time to hit the gym, studio, or park, and get active. If you're just starting to think about working out for the year, it's not too late. Brighter mornings and evenings make it easier than ever to get out and go for a jog/run in the park or a power walk around the neighborhood. If your allergies are too intense for outdoor fitness, you can still get a good workout indoors. Find a yoga studio or CrossFit trainer that you really connect with and boom!- Making it to class has never been easier. Not only will working out increase your overall health and fitness level, you'll feel happier- and more confident. Learning to push yourself when working out makes every time you run or lift a fun challenge - and quite the adventure, too.

Take A Road Trip

Spring and summer weekends are the perfect time to pack up the car and venture somewhere new. Taking the time to plan a short weekend road trip with your spouse or friends will give you something to look forward to the entire week. Whether you're visiting someplace new or somewhere you travel to every year, getting out of your usual weekend "routine" and hitting the road will no doubt shake things up for a bit. Take it all in - from the beautiful scenery to the strange locals at the isolated gas station - and you'll have one heck of an adventure.

Go On A New Hike

Put on your hiking shoes to walk a bit off the beaten path and you'll find adventure on a new trail. I've already been on two new hikes this spring, and I am very excited that I've traveled out of my comfort zone. One of the new hikes I did recently was the Syncline Loop Trail at Canyonlands National Park in Moab, Utah. This was a crazy, wild, totally intense hike that I safely (with the help of my boyfriend) conquered. Usually, I would have never chosen to do a hike that didn't even have a marked trail (rock piles are not that easy to follow!), but I have been pushing myself out of my comfort zone lately, and this hike was right up my alley. During the five-hour hike, I thought to myself "what the heck did I get myself into?!" But afterwards, I was beaming. Adventure can be found in any new hike - whether it's in a national park or in your own small town.

Travel Somewhere New

Travel is an essential part of our happiness and well-being. Travel opens our eyes to new cultures, people, lifestyles, foods, traditions, music, and so much more. Traveling - whether it's local or worldwide - can give us a different outlook and attitude and allows us to appreciate things, big and small, in life. With discount airlines offering super-low airfare deals, there's no better time than now to travel somewhere new. Pack up your suitcase and take that trip to Australia you've been wanting to take since you were 16. Visit Niagara Falls or the Grand Canyon, and be sure to take a lot of photos to share - and to look back on twenty, thirty, forty, even fifty years from now. You'll be glad you did!

Pick Up A New Hobby

There's no better way to add pizzazz to your life than to pick up a new activity you've been wanting to try for a while. Not sure where to get started? Hop onto Groupon or LivingSocial to get some crazy ideas. From pole dancing and fencing to the shooting range and go-kart racing, you'll find something fun and wild to try that's sure to keep your adrenaline pumping for days. If you're looking to start a low-key activity at home that you can do any time, why not try planting a garden? Nothing will be more exciting than watching your first vegetables grow - and cooking with them during a late-summer BBQ.

Get moving this year and your mind will feel refreshed, your spirit will be energized, and your soul will be fed. You are strong, confident, and capable of doing things you never thought possible - whether it's hiking a new trail or traveling around the world. This is your year - so add adventure, positivity, and happiness to your life!

How do you plan on adding adventure to your life this year?
