The Best Spring Skiing in the U.S

spring-ski-crowdSpring can provide some of the best skiing of the season if you know where to go. With the warm sun shining longer and many resorts still getting hammered with snow, now’s the time to get those last runs in before the summer adventures begin! With plenty of sunshine, costumes and events, a lot of resorts have special spring prices. Here are some of our top choices for spring skiing in the U.S.

Snowbird, Utah

The snow conditions, which are top notch with this season’s storms, are protected from the sun at Snowbird by the steep, north-facing slopes. This means the mush that’s common for spring skiing is less likely here allowing for a longer season. Starting April 4th they’ve got lift ticket deals for booking 2 or more nights stay!

Arapahoe Basin, Colorado

Arapahoe Basin is more often than not the last resort to close in Colorado lasting all the way until July some years. With their high elevation and some steeper slopes, the snow sticks around for great spring partying. And Ay-Bay sure knows how to party. Not only do they have “The Beach” which is a section of parking lot that backs up right to the lifts with picnic tables and gas grills allowed but they also have plenty of spring events such as live music every Saturday for the pond-skimmingmonth of May.

Mammoth Mountain, California

Like many resorts in the west, Mammoth was graced with amazing snowfall this season. High snow totals combined with high elevation and northern slopes, equals a recipe for some prime spring skiing. Their spring celebrations include parades, live music, an Oakley takeover with demos and giveaways as well as deals at local restaurants and the always popular pond skim.

Killington, Vermont

With late storms, such as the 30+inches that fell last week, Killington is a great place to get some spring skiing on. It’s normally the last resort to close on the east coast and knows how to go out with a bang. They’ve got countless events from clinics with Olympic athletes, mogul comps, rail jams, pond skimming and live music, just to name a few.

Just because Spring has arrived, doesn’t mean it’s time to put away your skis! Need a quick upgrade on gear for the end of the season? We've got our Spring Break Sale happening now!
